So Waze would display on PCM while driving? Sorry, I'm lo-tech; not sure how all this works. Would the chick on Waze continue to say, "Watch Out! Police up ahead!"

Same question as above. Can you elaborate on what you mean by "Your iPhone displays to your PCM 3.1 (PCM/CDR) via the USB port connection in your glove box.*"?

What exactly displays on PCM? Does it just mean that it shows the tracks, etc, as with an existing wired connection through the USB in the glovebox?

I think what he means is it displays just like when you connect the phone to the USB port.

I almost pulled the trigger on this, but I don't think you can control things like spotify and waze once it's inside the dock.

NoGaBiker, Bents, 9914s, Axxlrod and Joec500:

You can’t control waze and spotify while the iPhone is inside the FusionDock, correct.

Waze won’t display on the PCM, but Waze will still say "Watch Out! Police up ahead!"

PCMs with an AHA profile can display some apps. But I don’t think Waze is one of those apps.

Here are a few pics of how the FusionDock displays via the USB connection...

This is a very slick solution, but unfortunately it won't work for me as I run Waze all the time and want to view the Waze display.

On a related note, I recently read an article about Apple Play and the Android equivalent (both of which should be supported by the next gen PCM). The article downplayed both technologies because it said most apps will not be displayable or controllable via in-car screens and systems. It specifically mentioned Waze as a popular, but unsupported app. Disappointing.

I was super excited at first, but the lack of any control over apps like Spotify or e-mail is what killed it for me.

Guys- the only way that you will be able to display and possibly control iPhone apps via PCM screen in our 991's is to incorporate an interface from manufacturer like Alpine or NAV-TV into the PCM wiring. The only solutions I've ever come across that will allow this level of integration require cracking-open the PCM box and running additional input wires to the board. Totally doable, but not something most 991 owners would want to DIY.

While I really do like the look of this product, the fact that it covers nearly all of the screen while docked is a non-starter for me. I too use WAZE extensively.
