Default Rear light delaminating on the inside

Just wanted to share this with you. Seems like this happened overnight, but after my last service I noticed that my rear light was delaminating on the inside. Pretty sure it was not there before as I am pretty detail-oriented when it comes to keeping my black 911 looking good.

Anyway, the service department acknowledge the issue and immediately ordered a new set of lights.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any idea what could have caused this?

Have not seen this before. Don't know what it could be. Its obviously de-laminating but what is pulling away from what.

At first I thought it was water, but since the light units are sealed, that can't be the case.

Looks like there have been some isolated problems with condensation in the tail lights.

different issue, mine is really a delamination issue, not a condensation issue. And my dealer is taking care of it!

I wonder, if during service, it was taken out and then dropped. Was your rear bumper ever removed?

You are probably just the unlucky guy that got the one defective unit in 100,000 that does this.

I was the one unlucky guy that had the first defective Sound Symposer ever replaced on a TTS Coupe.

It was not, I brought it in for the glass sunroof rattle and driver's seat rattle.

You might be right. At least I thought I would share, since Porsche will take care of it. I was anxious for 2-3 days about what would happen, but they immediately told me they would order new lights

Exactly. I just wanted to share it so other people that might have the same issue know that Porsche will take care of it

I've read about this issue (here) and had it on both my taillights, although not as bad as the picture. Dealer first said they never heard of this before, than agreed to replace both. Now the new ones are looking less than perfect along the bottom edge...

Thanks for calling it out. I'm going to inspect mine more closely now. Glad to hear the dealer is acting on it without argument.

I noticed the same issue on our CPO'd 2014 C4S cab. I plan to bring it up at my 20k service in a couple months. I'll post the outcome. Thanks to those who posted about this.
