Default New member targa intro(pic heavy)

I've been reading this forum for awhile and just received my new car, so I thought it would be a good time to officially join. I am a previous owner of a 997.2 C2S cab, 997.2 TTS coupe, X5M, and now a Targa 4 GTS. I got my allocation in March, the order locked the first of June, and was delivered July 14. Here's the breakdown of what I ordered:

Carmine Red
7MT
Turbo S center lock wheels
18 ways
GTS interior package with carmine red stitching
Bose package
Premium plus pkg
Power steering plus
Painted side skirts
Painted rear fascia
Park assist front and rear
Smoker's pkg
Passenger side net

Since she arrived, I've added clear side markers(dealership did for free on arrival). I added a 991 custom escort 9500ci package from AI design in New York(had it locally installed in Alabama). I'm contemplating adding a smart top for the targa, but can't find much feedback for the Targa model; if anyone has any feedback, I'd appreciate it.

Congrats. I like the interior radar install. Car looks great, and good call on the painted side skirts/rear fascia.

That is a beauty. Congrats. Have fun with your Targa. Nice Escort install too!

If you haven't, you should think about getting grills installed to protect your radiators from pebbles and other road debris.

msmith, welcome to the board. You made a great entrance! Beautiful car and nice execution on the Escort install.

SmartTop is a must for cabs and targas. Best bang for the buck you can get.

Would you ever consider wrapping the targa hoop in black? I think it would look great on your GTS.

I have thought about wrapping the targa hoop, but not sure if there is anyone local that could pull it off.

What a beautiful car! But I'm completely biased. My Carmine Red Targa GTS should arrive in Seattle in a few weeks

Looking at your car makes me think I should have taken a closer look at the painted side skirt option, it looks fantastic. In person does it accentuate the curves of the rear fender flare as much as it looks like in the picture?

I didn't go with the GTS interior package because after spending time in a lot of cars at the dealer the Alcantara just wasn't for me. But damn, I'm going to be jealous of the matching red tach and red interior stitching whenever I see the GTS interior. I begged the dealer to find a way to make it happen but Porsche wouldn't budge. So I have the full leather interior. To give the interior some custom pop I did have them paint some of the interior trim in Carmine Red so hopefully this keeps the GTS jealousy at bay.

I have the clear side marker lights and the SmartTop module in my garage just waiting for the car to arrive at the dealership. I'll let you know how the SmartTop works with the Targa soon.

Enjoy your car and I hope to see more pictures. What region of the country are you in?

I'm not a black wheel kind of guy, and I find myself looking at that Targa bar in that combo thinking the brightwork is out of place. So I took your photo and played a bit in Photoshop with it....came up with this. If you like this, bet you could get it wrapped in vinyl....

Beautiful! Love the Carmine and the GTS interior too! And yes, find a way to blacken the targa bar IMO.
