Oh that is not so bad. I remember hearing quotes for $4k for Vette windshields (with the HUD) years ago. $1100 sounds a lot better than that lol.

Sorry to add some concern to your issue - BUT - make sure the installer has experience with Porsche windshields. They require some know how and its not unusual for installers to screw it up. I had a windshield replacement a few years ago and, after it was done, I was left with an annoying whistling sound in the car. It turned out the installer my dealer used had not properly seated the windshield and it required a redo with another new windshield. We used a different installer who had plenty of experience the second time and all was good. Others have had similar experiences.
Not a big deal but worth paying attention to.

Yep. Reputable installer, OEM windshield and -- critically -- the OEM gel packs are key. Mine got whacked by a big rock, but the new windshield, as far as I could tell, was perfectly installed.

The OEM windshield for my Cayman S was $900, not cheap but not insane. Luckily the deal warrantied mine.

New country literally did mine last week. Was 1280$. The windshield was back ordered from Germany but I got expedited shipping and it took 3 days once in. I waited 9 business days all in.

Chubb insurance paid it all in full

Pm me if any questions. Best of luck. Ross.

I've had 2 windshield replacements on my 2013 cab in just under a year due to rock chips & cracks. Both done by the dealer (using safelight). One was same day and one was scheduled a couple days out. It had to cure for an hour and then I could drive it home with the tape on it- just no washing for 24 hours. And fortunately covered by USAA.

I have had one done by the dealer, they said that they did not use safelight but I am not sure. Ended up at around $1100 if I remember correctly. Install was done very well and no problems.

I had a more pleasing experience. In 2003 I had a rock go through the windshield of my 1995 993. Rather than go to the dealer, I went directly to Safelite in this small town. Shockingly, they got the windshield installed in 24-hours . I was worried about the radio-antenna reconnection but they handled that perfectly. The best part was that it cost $0 since windshield replacement is covered 100% by insurance in Florida.
