fly on the wall ... Just keep that going with the 991.2 and don't fu*k it up! But they only want subtle changes that I think will take away from the original design. That damn executive board needs a refresh and are driving me nuts. They say we need to appeal to a broader audience and steal marketshare from the M crowd. Our current buyers will be in wheelchairs soon. We need to fish downstream they tell me. Then we have that ****ty turbo engine which I need to design around too! Are we designing cars for the driver or our politicians and the whacko eco nuts who despise us anyway? How things have changed ...
I personally feel the rear end looks pretty good in the right color. While not as organic and smooth as the 991.1, the overall look feels a bit sharper.
Still curious to see what the actual specs are (power outputs and brake setup most importantly). Worse comes to worse, I will just pick up up a lightly used 991.1 Turbo for the same price of a new 991.2 C2S.
Even a great color/wheel combo can't make that car look good. It looks like someone slapped a garbage body kit on a 991.1. Really looks cheesy, especially the new front fascia. And the vertical grill makes it look like the car's squatting down to take a ****.
If someone had offered a body kit like this for the 991.1 for $50, I'll bet they wouldn't have sold a single one.

Well, you are entitled to your own opinion. I personally think the 991.2 is a step forward for the frontal design (the foglight/DRL shape on the 991.1 is awkward on the standard bumper, the GT3 and GTS bumper helped to certain degree) and step back on the rear. So in the end, the .1 and .2 to be on par. Hell, it was a much better facelift than what happened to the 997. Just have a look of the 997.2, you will realize a lot worse could had happened than just the vertical grill that everyone is complaining about on this thread.
And again, aside from the Merc AMG GT, I really can't think of a prettier looking car than a 991.1 or .2 at this price range (the designs on the Corvettes and BMW Ms are getting way too busy). Maybe the BMW M6, but that car is more of a autobahn cruiser than a true sports car.

I agree, hopefully there will be something to replace the vertical grill that comes out later. Then it will be a much nicer looking car then the 991.1
Interesting al the dislike over the front. It looks like the GTS/sport design front without the extra pair of vertical design elements in the middle. Look at the motor authority picture stream - the black cars, first is new facelift and somewhere a little later is the GTS spy photos we all saw before the GTS comes out. It's not that different. The back, yes. But I bet the vertical engine cover can be changed.

The front actually has far more in common with the awful Cayman GTS fascia than the great 991 GTS sport design fascia. Just looks like someone slapped on some protruding plastic. All the body and exhaust revisions just look like change for change sake, rather than an improvement in the beauty of the design.
Seems like unanimous hate on the new engine cover. Can't wait to see the new tail lights. Shape doesn't look that different. But with the tape on, can't see whether it has changed to be more like the 918.
Porsche is continuing its recent homages to the past ..the " new " grill design and exhaust pipe location is just a nod to the gestational roots of what ultimately led to the 911 :

Nice too see. What's next? Move the engine to the front???
