Driver Side Wind Whistling with window up

I have the same issue and am thinking it is the mirror housing that is whistling but am not sure. Trying to open and reclose the window does not seem to fix the issue.

Exactly the same issue started on my 1.5 months old '15 911 GTS. High-pitched sound from driver side window starts @ around 65mph. Becomes really becomes irritating @ 85mph.
Took it to local dealer. At first test-drive w/ a tech, they declined there being an issue. On second test-drive w/ a different tech, they acknowledged the problem. But, weren't able to identify a source.
So, I'll bring it back to dealer in a few weeks for them to check a couple of things like:
1. seal @ mirror and door intersection
2. adjust window tilt angle + height
..
keep y'all posted...
Would love to see those w/ this problem get a resolution.

Back in 1993 I bought a Mazda RX3R. Wow what a car. I had a whistling that sounded like a bee. It was the first year of that model and dealer was great to find entry of wind. It took a while but it was the seal around the windshield. Try this. Tape the window, windshield all around. Drive it a bit see it if the noise is gone. Now, start removing a section at a time. Drive it. When you have the noise again, you have identified the area that needs to be fixed. Voila!

My 991S has wind whistling too. Yes it's the mirror with clear film on it! I taped the mirror roughly with a scotch tape, the whistling went away! I will call my clear film installer to reinstall the mirror part with a different cut film. Thanks a lot to Polusky!

I am having the same whistle above 70mph on driver side. The pitch of the noise changes when the inside of rear quarter window is pressed outwards, leading me to believe it is a rear quarter window issue. No PPF is installed on my carrera. Jim Ellis Perimeter tech located the issue and said he would fix it, but a few days later the service advisor called back and said it was normal. I was not happy, considering the car is under warranty and the whistle is quite annoying. Planning to try Hennessy soon, hoping they will fix and also not cause any other rattles if they have to remove trim/ window to re seal it.

Yes I have tried that, I also tried resetting the window position sensors following the steps but with no luck. The service advisor said: “these are not quiet cars” which I would agree accept he knows as well as I do that this is not normal for all other 911 coupes. If they are unable to fix I am planning on trying the black mill wind deflectors that help with buffeting with Windows down, but I am thinking maybe they would change the air flow enough to also fix the whistling. I love the car either way though, I just turn up the radio or let down the windows slightly and enjoy the smoothness of the suspension and the power band of these turbo charged 3.0L flat sixes. I came from a 987.1 Cayman which was cool for its own reasons but this 911 is a huge step up for sure!

The aftermarket wind deflectors did not help? I will update the forum when I am able to take it back to the dealer. This seems to be a common issue Because the rear quarter window is not held in as tightly as you would think according to others here that have taken it out.

I didn't see this mentioned before in this old thread, but the old school way to check for window seal leaks is to close a dollar bill between the glass and the seal. If you can easily pull the bill out with the door closed you need a new weatherstrip or the door glass adjusted. If the bill is trapped and hard to pull out the wind can't get in to make noise. Slide it over the length of the weatherstrip.
