Even if you have to search the entire Continental US and wait until nearly the 12th of Never, I cannot imagine how you will feel if you settle for a C2S, when you could have had a GTS. There must be at least a few dealers with a MY16 allocation. The C2S is a great car in its own right, but the GTS value overwhelms the extra cost. What a great wife you have!!

That'll be an awesome car! But why not the Sport design steering wheel?

Nothing specific. I've only test driven 991s with it and they seemed fine during the drive. What's the advantage of the sport design? Sorry if it's a stupid question

The paddles for shifting will be in the expected place, right at 3 and 9 o'clock behind the rim of the wheel. The multifunction wheel has them on the front of the wheel and it's probably the least sports car inspired wheel available in any sportscar. This gets fixed in MY2017 but stay away until then.

+1, if your car is PDK its a "MUST HAVE" IMO. But even in a 7MT its a much nicer looking wheel than the fugly MF...

I agree that the Sport Design Wheel is much nicer looking. That's what I have in my C4S, but now I'm buying a GTS and I picked the Multifunction (despite the buttons), because I have better chance of being able to swap with the new Macan type wheel and paddles.
You can retrofit a MF to a Sport Design, but not retrofit a Sport Design to accomodate the multifunction.
So if in the end, if I cannot retrofit the MF to the new Macan type wheel, and if it really aggravates me, I can go back to the Sport Design Wheel for about $1100 plus labor.

Thanks folks. Really helpful. Switched to sport steering wheel, cancelled adaptive cruise, and rolled with the GTS. Deposit and order Friday. Appreciate the input(s).
