I'm looking to have clearbra (3M, Xpel, etc.) installed on a new vehicle. Anyone have an installer in Chicago they would recommend? It does not appear to be very popular here as I am having trouble locating a shop that does this.
I went with design shielding (designshielding.com). They were really good. Had a convenient to downtown location which was a huge plus for me. Worked with my schedule and did a great job. Price was fair too.

Me too. Excellent work on my RS5 and R8GT... having had two other cars done since down in FL I wish I could fly him down. His work is the best I have seen on high end cars.
First, I would clear wrap the entire front end and not have a 'bra' as the demarcation line can be seen and it does not protect the entire hood.
Second, I don't know who the Exchnage uses but they did an outstanding job for me clear wrapping the front end.
I think it was $2000.-Richard
BTW I washed the car yesterday after 2 months of driving including a DE at Road America with PCA Chicago 'RAID'. Front end was encrusted with bugs and oil and what not. Washed and then used a nylon scrub pad, entire front end is now perfect again.
Well worth the cost as well as protecting the paint on the aluminum hood.

Really? And no scratches or marks? Did clear bra self heal?

I know that this is a bit further being near Milwaukee and I haven't seen their clear bra work but they're Xpel authorized and I've seen a detailed car completed afterward where their attention to detail was first rate.
Just had my new '15 Carmine Red 991 GTS done (full hood, full fender, bumper and mirrors) by the best in Chicago. No lines, no trapped dirt; not even visible to the eye.

This "midwestautobahnd" website says they are a mobile business. Did they come to you to do this clearbra installation? Did you do Xpel or 3M? Do they also do coatings like OptiCoat or CQuartz?
I think I might employ this business for my next 911 if they are good. Their website looks nice.
Midwest Autobond has nice space at Goldcost Autobody for installs. I used XPEL; its currently best available product. Does not yellow and is self healing.
