Default Varigon Paint Protection

I have a Red Carmine GTS Targa that should be here in July.
My dealer is suggesting that I skip the 3m type wraps for protection from rock chips etc and have car done with this product.

Has anyone used this type protection
I maybe looking wrong but it doesn't appear to be anything but a clear coating.

Any thoughts.

It may protect your paint, but not from rocks being fired at your hood at 60 mph. Wrap it to protect it.

I would do/use nothing a dealership recommends pertaining to detailing services. Seek out your own professional.

True dat. Dealer and detailing are two words that should never be spoken in the same sentence.

Xpel...find a good installer...had one but moved so new guy and working through issues with the job just done on my car (nothing to do with dealer but not great results...do not do your headlights) however you need a real film and real damage from rocks and tire pieces on the interstate Xpel stops...3 cars 4 years and 50+ track days on two of them tell me its worth every penny. A coating will do nothing but keep non endangered paint looking good which is is huge benefit on the rest of the car. My cars have 22ple or Gtechniq coatings and they do indeed last as advertised and keep the swirls away.

Would any of you opt for this type paint protection first then Expel over the front cap hood and at back tire areas.

I had Venture shield installed on my Turbo S had many bubble couple areas that appeared distorted was told it would smooth out never did but I never got one chip in paint. Car just wouldn't shine properly in my view. With this Great Looking Red I want protection with a deep shine. Am I asking for too much do I have to give that up for the protection ?

+1 Xpel.
I have used it for several years on several cars. (40th - GT silver, 50th - Graphite, son's black FRS).
While the level of shine is just a little below that of paint, it is not significant. The level of protection and the ability of Xpel to self heal small scratches is cool. I would do film rather than a respray 100% of the time.
The real key however is the skill of the installer. Spend time researching that aspect before you pull the trigger. Good luck.

Just the opposite. The professionals are doing:

1) Full paint correction (yes, even on a new car, you detailer may even want you to opt out of any dealership pre delivery prep)

2) Film

3) Nano coating over the film like OptiCoat or CQuartz Finest.

Thanks. I will look into this. Haven't found anyone yet near Memphis.

Gj325,

While I would normally refer you to the locator for XPEL, I checked and unfortunately we do not have anyone in the Memphis area listed online. I am checking with my sales representative if he can refer me to someone closer that can assist with the installation.

That being said, we do have a few installers around the area, but they're around 3 hours away. Which is a lot of miles and rocks

I will send you a PM once my sales rep gets back to me with more information.

If you have any questions please feel free to message us or reply

Default Glass Coat

Had a CQuartz glass coat applied to my GTS for 850 from one of the best detailers in Vegas. Paint correction/glass coat is the way to go in my opinion.
