Yes, clearance is another issue with the sportdesign bumper. You're reading my mind! I'm the same with washing my car. My dad tries to do it all the time thinking he's doing me a favor, drives me bonkers.

With the brushed aluminum, does the trim then not match what is around the air vents, the door handles, etc? I've never seen it in person, which scares me a bit (same as the white gauges).

Could the 4-way seats be that bad? I assumed they'd feel like the 18-ways just without some of the adaptability...

You've obviously played around with the configurator at least as much as most of us. This is the way I ordered my car because I wanted to introduce a little elegance to break up all the darkness. Even the early 911s had stainless steel accents on their dashboards.

Too close to a GT3. I like to fly under the radar. Does anyone have pictures of the white gauges that they could post (preferably on a 991)? I haven't seen any good shots, nor have I seen them in person. I'm concerned that the turn signals and various warning lights are going to be distracting and look cluttered. As for PCCB, STG991 you hit the nail on the head. I love how they look -- always shiny, no rust, no brake dust. Plus less unsprung weight and no fade. The only negative is the $$$. I know they're expensive, but the heart wants what it wants PSE -- I'm still going back and forth on that one. It's a tough call. I personally think the stock exhaust is loud enough, and will be a huge upgrade already (the Golf sounds like a vacuum). But I know my dad, brother, and friends would get a kick out of it. Is it true that it actually uses more fuel to create the crackling and popping? I'm hoping that the 4-ways are comfortable as I haven't been able to try them out, but I've always had a thing for manual seats, all my sporty cars have had them. Plus you lose the weight of the motors. Only thing I will miss is the lumbar adjustment, which my Golf has on it's otherwise manual seats. But I don't think it's worth the cash for the upgrade. I would also get the ventilated seats if the holes were the same size as the non-ventilated. I really thought about going with the carbon fiber trim. I agree about it adding texture, it looks great. I might have to take a look at it some more at the dealer. I think the leather gives it a clean look like that of earlier 911s. Understated. Does the carbon fiber cause any glare? Do you guys think platinum satin is a good choice for the wheels? Can you wash the satin paint the same as any other wheels? I've also read about chipping issues. Is the paint really less durable than the standard glossy silver? Or could it be a GT3/track thing? Sorry for all the questions! I really appreciate the feedback though, I'm loving this site already Glad there are others that share my obsession with the configurator.
I've heard about some glare issues with the white gauges? I think?? Maybe someone can chime in that has them.

Like someone else mentioned, the track guys actually prefer not to have PCCB's because the replacement cost on them is astronomical. For street use, they should last you the life of the car. Me personally, I'm a detail freak and spend way too much time on the wheels!

PSE, get it!! Doesn't use more has. You won't regret it!!

Seats, get the 14 ways. There will be no regrets. You have so many other great options. Trust me they are a good compliment to the interior build. No reason to go crazy with the 18 ways.

Wheel finish? I've seen chipping on both. The satin finish on the S wheels seems to hold up better than the GT3 wheels. It's darker, so chips will show up more easily than silver. A great look on a white car.

Sport design bumper or not, the car won't fly under the radar

All my advice, it's your $$$$

The aluminum isn't really "brushed" it's glossy. Matches the other interior trim perfectly.

The 18 ways have higher bolsters. I'm personally not crazy about them. I'm very happy with the 14 ways. Just having 4 ways is a big disadvantage when cars come up for sale. Manual seats on a 130K car??

Get the PSE and don't look back. IMHO, it's a "must have" option. Only reason not to get it is if you plan on bolting on an aftermarket exhaust. Also get the 14 way seats.

Get PSE! I didn't want it on my first 991 but it is awesome and I love it on the GTS. The fact that you can turn it off is a bonus. I have carbon trim and I think it looks great.

The brushed black trim on the GTS looks great imo, to the point that the aluminium looks a bit dated. PSE is a must have and best part is that it a click of a button away, back to civilian mode. I think the GTS is great value, but you can't really go to wrong with these cars - each to their own cash outflow! Love the idea of not cleaning wheels, though for the price differential, I can't get my head round that (at the moment).

Nice build
I would recommend the following
PSE
14-way premium package which adds heated & ventilated seats
Sport design steering wheel
I have the platinum painted wheels and have no issues @ 5,000 miles

Looks brushed to me. The standard plastic with aluminum looks is glossy.

Alright well I guess you guys have talked me into PSE haha. I guess I've never heard anything bad about it, so why not?

The brushed black aluminum would be perfect, that's what I would get if it were available on the S. I had originally specced a Cayman GTS with that trim. I'll look around at all the options again at the dealer tomorrow.

ibmiked I take it you haven't gotten your car yet? I can't wait to see how it turns out, looks good. Nobody currently has the white gauges? I saw this pic on the configurator, this is what I'm afraid of:

Warning lights galore.

Nearly everyone gets the sportdesign steering wheel. I like the standard one a bit better, the sportdesign is a little bright for me. Just personal preference. If the new GT4 style wheel drops into the configurator though, I could go for that.

What do you guys think of the crests on the headrests or center console? Do they hold up ok? Is it too much? Or does anyone have the center console in alcantara? That seems like it would be nice, but would it look out of place on a car with no other alcantara besides the headliner? How easy would it be to swap out after the fact if I didn't like it?

I guess there is a "brushed" aluminum too. I have the standard aluminum look in my car. Obviously plastic, but gloss and matches the steering wheel and gives the interior some nice definition. I have always been a black interior guy. Would never get anything but black.
