Putting about 110 miles daily on my 2013 with 7 mt. 10,000 miles since early January and enjoying every one of them. I'm not skilled with the written word so trying to convey the pleasure I get from driving this car would be futile.

Just picked up a 2015 Golf R and going to start putting some miles on her. The R is a surprising little hatchback. But, I didn't buy the 991 to have her be a garage queen.

I used mine as DD with no issues; one of my offices is about 60 mi round trip and I do that trip 2 x week. 14 way ventilated seats were very comfy and I did not note any bothersome road noise. Did not have SPASM.
As a bonus, it was neat getting close to 30 MPG doing about 85-90 on the interstate.
I say get one; remember, its the journey not the destination.

I have a 991c4 which I use as a DD. Has PASM, pdk, 20" wheels, standard seats. Lowering tyre pressure increases comfort. Perfect car for me.

I've put 16k on my 991 C2S since Sept. I have SPASM and don't mind the ride or tire noise on the PZeros (maybe the dynamic mounts help?). The PSE drone does get to me after awhile if I leave it on while on the freeway, so I just turn it off until I'm around town or in a tunnel. I'd defininitely recommend the vented 14-ways for any DD, one day in a loaner Cayenne with the base seats made my lower back hurt. Servicing costs suck, but driving my garbage Nissan around to save on scheduled maintenance would be my greatest regret if I died tomorrow.

I can attest to that. I just replaced my PZero's 2 weeks ago with the Michelin PSS. MUCH quieter and smother rubber. It probably doesn't hurt that the PZero's were pretty much done. (22K miles) But I have noticed a much better ride overall. Nice upgrade.

Do it. You won't regret it.

Car is plenty comfortable - all the fancy creature comforts make it a very pleasant long range car.

First Update - I've put 3,000 miles on the car in the last month or so. Its my daily 150 mile round trip car, I used it to take my son to his baseball tournaments and for backroad drives for no reason. I've driven in nice weather and torrential rain.

Overall - It really works. As a commuter, its a little louder than a true luxury car and certainly lets more of the road noise and feel through, but its not problematic . Now when I drive the Acura or Cayenne S I miss those things a little. This 991 is an excellent all around car. Lots of fun, very crisp, very capable. So far I love it. Thanks for the push guys!

Slvr993: I have a 13 C4 as a DD. Get an extra set of wheels, Michelin Alpin tires, 19mm socket, torque wrench, low profile jack and you'll be all set for year round grins!

I've now put 13,000 miles on the car. No regrets absolutely love it. Just put the alpines on today as we're heading into cold weather. I have to say, big improvement over the pirelli's in terms of noise and comfort. Come spring ill go to a set of Pilot sports for sure. All in all this is a great daily driver. We'll see how the winter goes but I've got no doubt it'll be great.

Judging by everything that you've said.... An f30 335/340 xdrive would be the best option.

Thank you for this thread. I am going through the same thought process. I will be putting at least 20k a year on the car if I purchase it Mostly highway. I do have one slight caveat though. I do have a bad back. Not crippling but after a long day on my feet I can feel it. I know getting in and out of a 911 can be challenging but I need to know that once I'm in it that the ride isn't too harsh. Also, I am an audiophile so I would be getting a car with Burmeister. Hopefully the it could still be enjoyed even over road noise. I am considering a 2014 turbo 911 cab. Please let me know your thoughts and keep going with the thread it is awesome.

Default wheel size?

OP - what size are your wheels - you may notice improved comfort with 19inch?

I drive mine 100 miles round trip to work, but only once per week on average. I enjoy it and its very comfortable, but I also swapped out my drivers seat for a recaro aftermarket one.
