Very nice! MB is a great car too, but price-wise not even a real comparison, which is to say the GTS should definitely win. The AMG is priced more along the GT3/TT lineup.

Does that European GTS not have the powerkit?. The engine bay did not say exclusive powerkit on it. That would be the same as the 911/50 where the powerkit was an option outside of North America.

All 991 GTS models have the powerkit (430hp) but it is badged as 'Carrera GTS' on the engine with no direct reference to the 'Exclusive Powerkit'. Perhaps because it is standard with the GTS, who knows.

I'm not sure about that. An MB GT is 130k base price vs 120k GTS vs 150k for a turbo. Plus once you start adding options on a porsche the gap narrows even more- for instance the glass sunroof on the merc costs half of what it does on the 991. Also, a Burmeister stereo is included standard on the MB GT, I have to believe that is better than the base on a 991. Both the MB GT and the 991 GTS are 140k+ cars once they get built with some options.

I just optioned one out on the MB site, and you may be right.

That quarter mile race was close. 11.5 sec. for the AMG. I wonder how the 2WD model would have fared in that race.

Sat in the MB AMG GtS today.
The car is beautiful.

The car is not comfortable. The seats are so tight for a big guy. I'm 6'3" and 250lbs, not fat at all, and it was horrible.

I saw/sat in the AMG GT at the Toronto Auto Show a couple months back. I actually thought I would like the exterior styling in person more than I did... the dimensions are extreme with the huge front hood. Feels like 2/3rds of the car sits in front of the driver.

On the interior I have to agree, aside from the feeling that you sit inside a tank (low, high sided) the visibility in all directions is poor... or at least foreign coming from a 911. I wasn't a huge fan of the seats either. The interior styling is rather interesting but it does feel like there is a great deal of wasted space resulting in a very tight space. Borderline claustrophobic relative to the 991.
