149 days later
After waiting for 149 days my Guards Red GTS finally arrived and I took delivery yesterday....after my 2012 C2S, this car is a beast! What a difference in feel and drivability and sound...this PSE is just so much noisier and guttural. Sales guy went through car and manual with me and the only run-in is brakes and tyres for first 300 miles...he told me not be shy to use the revs....look forward to updating this post as the miles accrue...

Wow, I'm impressed. Not only did you get a great car, you got a great sales rep!
Oh wait! Sorry! Nevermind! You're in South Africa!
In fact, since the car is brand new you not only should not be shy about using the revs, you should actually be doing everything you can to get as much wide open throttle as possible the first few hundred miles. High pressure early on helps seat piston rings, the key to a freely revving, high power and long lasting engine. But even if you don't aggressively pursue that, its still great to know you are out there unafraid of driving your new 911 as it was meant to be driven! Congratulations!

GTS
Thanks guys. The rear window and side small window were ordered factory tinted. My previous 991 got very inside when parked in the sun in our African heat. This should keep car cooler.
I went for a drive on the motorway today, did a quick check run for speed cameras and then 'gently' up to 115 mph. Tap off quickly and the exhaust pops superbly....easy on brakes.Max rpm was 6500...agree with you Chuck!
I kept options to a minimum as PSA charge us double of what you guys in the US pay for options. for example the GTS comm package is $5000.
I took PDK as we are so used to manuals here in SA and felt like sticking to PDK as per my 991 C2S so I can concentrate on driving and enjoying the car. We are not allowed to track our cars in SA whilst still under warranty....sucks..
Options are:
Front and rear park assist
Standard interior black with Alcantara
power steering plus
cruise control
smoking package(non-smoker)
multifunction steering wheel( will change if possible when new wheel is available)
4 way sports plus seats
mobile phone prep
Privacy glass rear and side window
PCM
PDK
Auto dimming mirrors and rain sensor

Introduction
Hi guys, I also hail from good 'ol South Africa and picked up my GTS about 12 days ago. I literally drove home, parked it and climbed on a plane to Europe... So I have a lot to look forward to when I arrive home next week!
Mine is a GT silver, GTS (no AWD for us Africans!) with telephone module, black centre locks, alcantara full interior, TPM, PDK and all other standard equipment
I agonized over manual (what I really wanted) but felt the PDK was more practical and ultimately "better". I have a few race cars that are manual so I can still get my "fix" if I need it!
I also have a diesel panamera as a DD and my wife has a 2013 Cayenne V8S... So I guess you'd say we're a true porsche family!
Here are some pics of the new baby...
