One reason oil changes are so expensive on these cars is that they actually do take a nontrivial amount of time and a nontrivial amount of work. Avoid Saturday service if you can. Many/most dealers offer it, but that is not when the A-team technicians are most likely to be working.

And check your oil level shortly after leaving the dealer, so you don't have to drive 15 miles back when you discover it's one bar above the fill line...

when i have a grease monkey do anything - i always walk round the car - looking for dents scratches - pop the hood - check they put the oil filler back on etc....drive it very slowly and listen for the first 5 - 10 mins....speed up and your off.

Do they have to take the rear bumper off to do your first oil service?

The bumper cover is never removed for an oil change. Only to service the 2 engine air filters. Every 40,000 miles.

Makes me wonder how they charge that much more for the visual checks they say they perform in addition to the oil change! There's not much you can see under the car or through the engine compartment.
