The only thing that makes sense to me is that what a seller thinks is/isn't of value to a buyer is irrelevant.
What matters is what a potential buyer wants! Try not insulting them either!
Can this car get sold already? Started out at over 100K asking price. It's losing $800/mo in depreciation just sitting wherever it is. Had this car been priced at 94K off the bat, it would have sold within 2 weeks.
Now in the hottest buying time of the year it's still being debated. Only issues with this sale is the price and the seller.
On top of it, he's looking to get a sales tax advantage of going through a dealer (min 5K tax savings).
We'll be seeing the drama all summer here.
Want it sold? Sell it for 94K WITH a CPO warranty. It will be sold within 10 days!

that being said... it has a deposit today, paperwork being done tomorrow... 94,750... No CPO

Well said. We all feel that we should be rewarded for our investment (financial AND emotional). With time and depreciation, the buyer ultimately accepts an offer that works for him. One thing that houses have that cars do not is the RMLS system that shows what was paid and how long it was on the market for. If you know someone has had the car for sale for 60+ days, then you know it's likely overpriced for what they're asking. If someone else sold a car in < 5 days then you would know they were lower or at the market price.
i do agree i try and price a car right the first time as some eyes never come back for a second look.. had it been priced 98 from beginning instead of 102 it would have sold... had my 997.2 GT3 been priced at 108 from beginning instead of 112... would have sold instantly...
it's hard to judge the market but you try and do your best based on comparables.. the only problem i have is getting the right eyes to see the listing/vehicle.... with the right eyes you can get any price you want.. but thats a difficult task... cars.com, autotrader.com, speedlist.com, rennlist,... but still so many people use other routes to find cars.
