+1 -- No one has any business checking emails or texts while they are driving!

Perhaps those who can see emails have a newer version of the PCM software?

I have a November build. PCM software was updated before delivery in March. iPhone 6, iOS 8.4. Notifications turned on. I get texts, but no email.

I have one of the first 2016 cars, built in June 2015 and only get texts (no email). Also, I only get the texts that arrived once the car is turned on and paired up with my iPhone 5S running iOS 8.4, nothing prior to starting the car shows up. I think that the 991.2 with Apple CarPlay will be a deal changer. Hopefully, we'll be honored with a PCM software upgrade which will allow us to have it as well, but I'm not holding my breath.

New Yorkers! Where's your sense of adventure? Plenty of time to read on the FDR or 95 -- I'm just kidding.

I agree completely with no reading while driving. I just like things to work properly.

I can think of nothing worse than getting emails on the PCM. Texts - that would be useful.

How are texts useful when you are driving? That is an accident waiting to happen.

Default Text and emails

Oddly, on this morning's commute I started getting a notification on the PCM screen every time I received an email and was able to read the text of the emails as well (though under the "text" tab as the "email" tab remained empty). Weird that it started working all of a sudden because I had updated to iOS 8.4 a few weeks ago.

Sorry, I updated to 8.4 a many weeks ago and, mercifully, no texts or emails are coming to my 991 so I still drive safely. There is no reason to capture an email or text message while driving. We would have many people alive today if this was a nonexistent feature on all cars. There would be many teens still alive today if their iPhone knew they were in a car while texting and shut them down. Our current nonfunctional Porsche-feature is useful.
