I've owned my 991 6 months and have yet to put a CD in. I haven't bought a CD in at least a decade. I suppose I should go dig one out of a drawer somewhere to make sure the thing works.

Now that the lunarx mod is complete, (re: BM tweeters & subwoofer now in place), system sounds best with CD's followed by iPod, XM, then radio. T

You guys can put your CD's away, if you want to.
You can rip your CD's to 16bit, 44.1Khz WAV and maintain full CD Quality.
Then you can play from USB or copy to your JukeBox.
With WAV you don't have metadata, but you can add cover art and the PCM will display the art/filename/folder while the track is playing.

If you want even better quality, you can get 24bit Master Recordings.
From my listening, these seem to have more detail in bass, to where you hear beats within the beats.
The ones on Pono are in FLAC 24bit w/ sample rates from 44.1Khz up to 196khz.
(don't buy the 16bit 44.1Khz as those are barely above CD Quality, and should not even be on their site)

Our PCM, unfortunately, won't play FLAC, ALAC or WMA-Lossless.
So you need to convert, your 24 bit lossless masters, to WAV 32bit (or 24bit) 44.1Khz.
(44.1Khz being the max our PCM can play).

By the way, what's a CD? I wonder if I could hook up my 8track that's stored away somewhere?
