991 C4 wheel shudder when backing up and turning
I just picked up a 2013 C4 a few weeks ago with 6K miles on it and since the weather is clearing I am finally able to drive it!
But I have noticed that when backing-up slowly out of my drive, and only when turning the wheels to get onto the street, then wheels make a shudder sound and vibration. It feels like it is grips then lets go, then grips and lets go. I am used to this in SUV 4-wheel drive vehicles where if there is too much grip on a tight turn, the wheels exhibit this same symptom. Just wondering if others have noticed this.
My son has a 993 C4 and I don't remember this same thing happening when I have driven it. I know, two completely different cars (I have a 993 C2 Targa also).
Thanks.

Thanks. I did do a search on different types of symptoms but nothing came up on this topic. Why didn't I think to search for ACORNS! It's so obvious now.
I thought it had something to do with being all-wheel drive. And I do have 20" summer tires and it was very cold this morning, so it sounds like this is normal.
Thanks again.

Three Wheelin'
Many 911s exhibit this trait (including mine, a 997.2). It typically occurs at the limit of turning your wheel. Just a data point for you - It's been my experience that if you turn the wheel this sharply and really quickly while, at the same time applying throttle, you'll experience the same sound followed in a microsecond by total understeer.
