At my AD today who told me that they are expecting the 991.2 to be just under 3 litres in capacity (he jokingly said the engine capacity would be 2991cc) and produce under 200 grams of CO2. Both are tax driven decisions because of the large number of markets that tax cars on CO2 or capacity such as China where the tax on cars over 3000cc doubles.

Carrera and Carrera S models will be availbe for ordering in September while 4S models will be available for order in Feb 2016.

My upstate NY dealer told me no engine changes for 2016 only minor cosmetics. This is what they said at the Scottsdale dealer meeting.

I was told same thing yesterday that 2016 model is not a refresh, 2017 models will be.

Although I do question this, there is some possibility since you'd expect a refresh announcement to be imminent and there's no sign of that. I could see a short 2016 model year with MY17s coming early in calendar year 2016. There is some precedent.

According to my AD, 991.2 will be announced at Franfurt with order books immediately open for deliveries beginning February. Order books open for 4S in January for deliveries in May.

With all the test cars out there with new engines apparently, it's hard to believe the engines would be that far off. Everything has looked like a Frankfurt unveiling, including engines.

They just got doing it to the engines on the Panamera and Cayenne.

I think there's a kernel of truth there.

Porsche is usually pretty good about following their own doctrine. 2005 997 then facelift, DI engine etc. in 2009, GTS, etc. . Then 2012.5 991 now 2016 model year etc.

It would be great if the update had the new transmission from the GTS. It would be a nice alternative to the GTS
