Can anyone with a 991 with the smokers package (ashtray) tell me whether the small LED that illuminates the ashtray comes on with the parking/headlight switch or when the door opens/closes. I only ask because I recently had the ashtray installed at my Porsche dealer and it lights with the door open and slowly dims when the door closes like the other interior lights. That setup doesn't make much sense. The ashtray should be illuminated while driving at night so you can see the lighter, etc., shouldn't it. I think the tech might have hooked up the power to the wrong circuit. Thanks for taking the time to answer a rather obscure question. PJ

Please don't tell me you actually intend to use it for smoking in the car ... most people get this option for the additional storage space (it's not much but it's something).

Lighter LED goes on only when head lamps and parking lights are turned on, not when door is opened. I ordered it with the car, so was not an add on.
