Default Ceramic Brake noise

Generally do ceramic brakes squeak and or are they just normally noisier then the regular brakes? The car I am looking at had work done on the ceramic brakes because of squeaking but the previous owner said they are better now but ceramics in general are noisier ....dont know if he is giving me a story or not. Thanks in advance !

They squeak until they warm up. A couple of enthusiastic brake applications from sufficient speed will do the trick.

+1 they especially squeal when cold and threshold braking (e.g: pulling up to a stop sign) they sound like an 18 wheeler ...

Zero noise, zero issues here.
