That is really exciting is if verified. This car really seems like something special.

So it is probably breathing a little less and producing at least 400 hp and maybe a little more. They would want the better internal parts in the gt4 for sustained track duty reliability. We will know soon enough as soon as cars start to arrive and are put on the dyno.
Very intriguing that it comes with the power kit! I'm pretty sure the aftermarket will figure out an intake setup to uncorked the rest of the power I know I'm going to strap the car on the dyno the same time I'm getting it tinted, it's one stop shopping at this independent performance shop I go to lol

I believe it does, but that is not necessarily indicative of the engine being powerkit IMO, since the car is targeted as a track car the additional cooling would be desirable independent of the engine's capabilities

When AP said the engine was "derived" from the 991, he then went on to explain they had to change the crank and a few other things to work in the Cayman configuration. Then when asked about power, watch, he's like the kid who knows he got away with it. Clearly 385 is a marketing number they use to avoid having a Cayman with more power than a 911. When it comes to their GT cars - and at this point I should probably be clear, their real (non-GTS) GT cars- Porsche has a long history of under promising and over delivering. In other words, this story certainly fits with everything we know about the GT4… and Porsche.

Just put a manual transmission C2S and a GT4 immediately back to back on a dyno - to compare how much power is going to the ground via each one's drivetrain - not what is on each motor's engine test rig.

But we all know that engineering dept never certifies minimum official hp ....marketing dept does , at most every car company !
