!) what do folks think of side window aluminum trim on a c4s - in agate grey?

Graphite Gray 50th here and IMHO the aluminum throughout the car looks great.

2) any opinions on glass sunroof vs metal sunroof?

Many option's with the glass roof. Power the screen closed if summer sun is beating down on you, power open screen on a cloudy day to let some more light into cabin, lift the rear only to let some fresh air in, or power the top back on a nice day. Looks great closed and retracted. No rattles here. I've never been a sunroof guy before but did not order this car and really ended up liking it. 6'3" here and have no headroom clearance issue unless wearing a helmet it does get a little tight.

3) thoughts on rear wiper??

Removed rear wipers on both my 928's and don't regret it and the 14 did not come with. Much cleaner look without.02

thank you! too many options! but I guess its part of the fun...!

Re: Sunroof

I really don't like the fact that Porsche uses black plastic pieces on either end of the sunroof. They scratch easily and aren't even painted. Just gloss black plastic trim. I think black is the right color to match the glass, but the plastic seems soft.

On my solid body colored sunroof, I think even the center sunroof panel is plastic. They are all painted to match the body of course, but don't "correct" the same way when doing a paint correction (buffer pad polishing).

I have not come across any car with a glass sun/moonroof that does not have a sunshade to control how much sun gets in; the 991 definitely has one. If your car does not have one, that would be a defect.

The aluminum looks great on the 50th

Glass sunroof with shade is a great option. shade open or closed depending the sun. You can pop the rear half up and it vents nicely, or you can open the whole thing. A well done option.

Rear wiper is functional though neither our Cayman or 991 has it. We were on the fence with the 08 Cayman when we ordered it and wish we would have opted for it. On the 991, we bought it slightly used so no choice as it wasn't installed. I wish it would have come with it. I think the rear wiper is very nicely incorporated into the 991 design and doesn't stick out.

Good luck!

Wiper. It just looks so wrong! Plus who needs scratched rear glass?

1) no
2) glass roof looks nice and I like the light it lets into the cabin. There is a retractable screen (was in my '13 C2S and in my '15 TT)
3) don't care for the look, but if you need it for functionality, go for it.

Point taken.

I got carried away with this whole "internet" thing. It seems to bring out the worst in people.

I initially wanted to get the wiper and had it on my first 40 or so configurations -- I lived in that configurator far too long. Then I noticed a TT at my club with a rear wiper that never seemed well tucked away at the margin of the window. I decided that would annoy me if it were to happen and I do not plan to drive my car in the rain anyhow -- if I get caught in the rain I'll rely on the slip stream to clear the window.
