I agree. It does look a little odd. I love everything else.

Wow....that's all I can say. I had a 2006 Cayman S and anyone who's driven both one of them and a 911 knows they are both excellent cars with subtle differences in feel and mission. The GT-4 finally says goodbye to the "let's neuter the platform with less horsepower" unfortunately the price rises to 911 levels as well.
That said, in Porsche Pricing's Stratosphere, $85K base price (about $10K more than the Cayman GTS) is really not that bad for an engine swap and other performance goodies. We all know how dangerous the Porsche option list can be but if you keep this car pure it should do fine with little to no options.
I will also be very curious to see what real world demand will be when you can actually get one. On one hand, I would think every one Porsche can make will be snapped up before they're built...but its pricing does put it into a different category it's never been in before. Time will tell.

Very nice, but it's a miss and not what it should have been.
It really should have got the full 430HP 991 GTS/Powerkit engine.
Imagine the driving experience then.
When a brand like Porsche, that is supposed to be about uncompromised performance, holds cars back, it's very dissapointing.
Do you think a Powerkit could be added to it?
I like that its manual only.
Which is more reason, Porsche could have given it 430HP, as it still would still accelerate slower than a 991S w/ PDK.
The steering wheel looks great!
I want to try and retrofit that.

Bit early for that no? Tell us more about your driving impressions that helped form this opinion? ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I jest of course but stating it is a miss before anyone has driven it is more than a bit premature... I read elsewhere that the engine is underrated and its expected to be much faster than Porsche's conservative estimates.
Remains to be seen on what sort of volume they produce (not many I'm sure) and what the street price with dealer markup will be...

There's no way they'd give it 430hp. If the 911 has nothing else, it has to have more power than a Cayman. I am actually considering changing my 991 GTS order to the GT4, except for one thing. The rear of the car. That was the reason I didn't get a 981 in the first place. I just priced the GT4 at 105k with GT silver, carbon buckets, etc. It is a bargain. To be fair, the GTS has more creature comforts (my build has sunroof, Burmester, etc.) In the end, it's going to have better steering, braking (same brakes as GT3), and maybe shifting than GTS. In fact I love how it looks until you get to the back. So I'm torn a bit given that it's also a 30k savings.
The question is if I will rarely track, is it the right car?

Amazingly, my ideal config comes in under 90k.
The only thing I'd want is the extended leather bits. I would even go without PCM and all that for this car. The racing seats are cool but I'd be ok with the base sports.

I would have been OK with derated HP (measured at lower RPM) if it still had the full Torque.
However, the website shows 310TQ, which is -20 from the Carrera S.
I hope it's just BS and the car is not detuned.
Anyways, I configured one for $92.8K w/ Leather & 18Way Seats.
I did radio delete, since storage compartments seemed kind of useful.
Also, I don't want to pay $2800 for PCM/Nav as much better could be done aftermarket.
A GT4 lease might be tempting.
