Default USB and Aux port in the glove box

Hello;

Does the USB and Aux port come in the standard audio system? (non-Bose, non-Burmester). Also, can I stream to the stereo in the standard audio system? My salesman wasn't too sure.

Thanks.

This is for a 2015 911 GTS.

Answer applies to 2014 C4S with standard sound system

Q1. Yes
Q2. Not sure of your definition of stream. If you mean "can you plug in your phone/ipod into the USB and have it controlled through the PCM", then yes ipod is one of the source choices and you can select music playback style as per normal.

What he means by "streaming", is connecting his phone via BT and use apps as Pandora to listen to the music that is not physical on his device

Check out the Good to Know app for iOS. One thing I've found is that you can't stream audio from the phone if there is an iPod/mp3 player connected to the USB port.

Yes.

On the base stereo you can stream via BT from your phone no problem.

I have a 2012 991.1 with Bose audio and PCM 3.1(?). No phone prep but BT audio enabled as standard.

Heres the curious part, I have the USB slot in the glove box and a hole for the aux port...but no actual aux jack just the hole. Did I miss something ? Thanks.

The base sound system does have both Bluetooth streaming and USB/Aux inputs, but make sure you listen to one before buying as the sound quality is not great.

I do have the Bose setup. My question is, my aux port has no 3.5mm jack for the cable...just the hole. Strange omission or am i missing some early build fact nugget ?

That is odd! Go to the dealer and demand your missing AUX!
