New GTS Owner first impressions
My 1st post! although, I’ve been lurking for a while learning from everyone here.
I took delivery of my GTS yesterday and thought I share some thoughts after a day a driving..
- The car sounds amazing while still preserving the traditional Porsche 911 note.
- GT Silver Metallic looks better than I thought it would. It’s truly a unique silver color; whereas most silver colors are either cool, or flat — this one is a noticeably much warmer silver.
- This is my first car having a manual transmission and electric parking brake. It simply feels odd pushing the electric brake button after parking (I’m sure I’ll get used to it).
- Hill assist is super strange. I get why it’s helpful especially considering not having a manual parking brake, but nonetheless it’s weird. It caused me to stall the first time it kicked in (I wasn’t expecting it).
- The material Porsche used for its main dash (picture below) is super cheap looking. I previously had a 2013 Panamera GTS where the main dash was leather. I’m almost certain that was built-in to the cost of the GTS and not an option for the Panamera. Whatever, it is/was — my bad for not considering this option more closely.
- The trim around the main dash for it not being carbon fiber looks really good. IMO much better than aluminum.
- The front spoiler/bumper has a 5.5” clearance. No problems at all going up/down various driveways.
- I know there are some power steering plus doubters here. I had it in my last car and didn’t have any beef with it. I get coffee on may way to work every morning; having the little extra ease in steering is sometimes a bit helpful.

Looks great.
Having seen the plastic vinyl dash in person as well as sit in a 991 with the vinyl seat I would always opt for the leather dash and seats. I'm glad the previous owner of my 991 did full 2 tone leather with cool stitching so I didn't have to make the decision. If I had to decide to keep cost's down I might not have done it.

0explorer,
Did your dealer explain to you that the dash does not come with the leather material with stitchings, when you ordered your car with your spec? If your dealer didn't, I think he did a poor job in assisting you. The GTS communication package interior comes with all leather and stitchings. But your car still looks good.
