Default Luggage

I found a great 2/3 piece set of hard sided polycarbonate dark silver luggage set today at Costco that is sized almost perfectly to allow 2 pieces to fit snugly into the 991 trunk well (with the "laundry basket" removed). Also looks cool in the dark gray satin finish with my Agate colored car (also comes in dark blue and dark red).

See:

http://www.costco.com/.product.10011...rySiloedViewCP

You can fit the big unit in laying flat (almost a perfect fit) and the smaller piece flat on top of it in the well (you can't fit 2 big ones in due to the greater depth of the big unit) .

Or, you can alternatively fit two of the smaller ones standing horizontally, long edge down. Placing the smaller ones horizontally (long edge down/wide side handle up) in the 27x18x16 tub, the two 9 inch deep cases fit snugly side by side, and at 15.1 wide ("tall" when placed in long, narrow edge down) they clear the forward slope of the hood with about 3/4 of an inch to spare.

WAY, WAY cheaper @$49 each (in store the small ones sell for $49 and the large one is currently also $49 ($69 less a $20 sale/ rebate)) then the Porsche /Rimowa $500 "medium trolley" nearly the same sized ones (Rimowa: 20.67"x 15.35" x 9.53" ; Costco's smaller one : 22.2” x 15.1” x 9.2”) .

See the attached pix first showing just the big one in, then with the smaller 21 inch one on top of it, and one showing 2 smaller units side by side.

Surely not comparable to/won't last as long as the Porsche/Rimowa units, but OK for the occasional weekend trip, fits right and looks good.

What about the back seat area, with the seats folded down?

Best "luggage" for trips in a Porsche. I've been using these for years. This is how you use ALL the space...lol. And no, I'm not kidding!

I originally posted the wrong Costco link and the edit doesn't seem to reflect my change, so use this one (it shows the blue colored ones, but in the store they have dark silver and red too (and it's cheaper):

If your looking for a bag for week long excursions here's another one that fits nicely in the front with room to spare for a backpack or small carry on. And if your luggage ever gets eaten by baggage handling machines it's covered.
