the Porsche 918 Spyder was being driven above the speed limit by a woman, a friend of the owner who was on the passenger seat. Reports are indicating she mixed up the brake pedal with the acceleration pedal which led to the supercar hitting a tree on the right side of the road.
Actually one in Canada burned to the ground already. Depending on what happens with this one?? Who's the happy insurance company? Who knows in China what is covered?

Considering Porsche has probably produced only a couple of hundred so far, the record of operator error is pretty sad. Does guarantee exclusivity for those that know how to pump gas and can keep the two pedals straight.
Anything to stop reading about SPASM and Turbos! Ha ha.

I heard a story on what happened with the one that burned, it was sold by my dealer to a fairly well known finance rich guy/TV 'personality' in Toronto. Apparently he splashed gas on the side of the car when filling it up... whilst attempting to clean it up using a window squeegee he dripped gas onto the top mount exhaust causing it to burn.
Only money I suppose and he could certainly afford it... on the plus side apparently he was known to give people rides and let them sit in the car to take pics so not all bad.

Was thinking the same thing until I remembered about the guy who "squeegee'd" the gas over the engine for the one that burned. Lets just say all complete idiots need to not own one of these or even get withing 100ft of them.
