This. I have as narrow garage in the front and I don't have the folding mirrors. I have to admit I have kissed the passenger mirror on the wall. No damage but rather have the folding mirrors. Rear is not an issue. ...... next time if I build myself.

+1 for folding mirrors for all the reasons noted - plus I think it looks cool folded up and even cooler when they start to fold out.

My lot car came with folding mirrors and to be honest I hardly ever use them. Pretty much the only time is the not too often occasions I'm in a mall garage or the like where folding them up gives more room between cars. Wouldn't pay for it if I was ordering the car.

Was in LA & Marina del Rey recently and noticed how close the cars park to each other. Most cars didn't have any scuffs on there bumper covers and I was a bit surprised. Buddy who lives there said the problem is that the mirrors stick out to far get clipped or scratched quite often. T

I have the sport design mirrors, so mine don't fold, but it is a nice feature. I have it on a Lexus RX300 that is my DD, and I like it in my garage. Biggest danger in my garage is my wife getting out of her car and dinging my RX. I make her park on one side, and park the Lexus between the Turbo and her MDX (3 car garage)!

Don't have them. Seems like something that will break in 10 years and cost over a $1,000 to fix.

A question about the lights underneath. I have the power folding mirrors but have never noticed the lights underneath. Do you have to turn them on with PCM? When do they turn on?

The irony is that they are not so noticeable in use... Because the mirrors are usually still or yet to fold/unfold whilst you are outside the car... And the lights don't illuminate unless they are unfolded. So you won't see them unless you 'hang around in the dark'. It took me about 3 months to actually notice them and I drive in the dark most days... If you are the kind to 'hang around in the dark' then you will see the light.... Provided you don't go to prison first

Originally I had the right mirror set up to automatically dip when going into reverse, but quickly decided that it was annoying as often I found I really just wanted to look back not back and down.. I find now that leaving it alone and just hitting the right mirror select when I want it to dip works much better for me.
I'm not completely sure I would order folding mirrors again. I actually go them so I could tuck them in when parking on the street or in tight parking spots. But rarely if ever park them in those situations..
