Default Touch screen

Am I the only one who hates it when someone touches the touch screen?

I never use it as I can not stand the finger prints, but was at the dealer to sort out a door rattle when the music is on and now I have his finger prints to clean of the screen

Use a quality quick detailer and a micro fiber towel. Bam. 1 minute. And helps to resist future finger prints.

Never thought of using QD on the screen, it does not leave it greasy then?

It does not. I use the QD on my touchscreen, gauge faces, rear view mirror, side mirrors, and several other interior black plastic trim pieces. I like Adam's best from Detailers Domain.

Saturate a small cloth with QD. Wipe the screen clean. Quickly follow with microfiber cloth and buff dry.

I remember watching the iPhone announcement and thinking, "Wow, those guys are bat$#!+ nuts. Who wants fingerprints all over their phone? How are people supposed to keep that thing clean?"

Turns out that life is better if you just learn to not care.

I initially had the same reaction but then I realized how nice it is to just touch exactly what you want instead of clicking around. That's what it's there for, right? It only takes a few seconds to wipe clean so what's the big deal.

Funny, my therapist says the same thing. But I'm just not that guy.

My "bad" experience is with my old E53 BMW X5 where my screen got scratched by someone using a cloth to wipe fingerprints off it (I never knew why my mother in law had to touch the screen to point out a place as it was not a touch screen). I saw those scratches for as long as I had that car afterwards and hated it.

Is the Porsche screen glass?

Install one of these over your PCM screen. Problem solved!

Ok, so after reading this I don't feel so bad about having my wife use a stylus I keep in the car to make selections on the display...lol.

Personally I hate looking at smudges on the screen while I'm in the car. It is much easier using the screen to select options though. With that said, use a clean microfiber towel & Mothers Showtime cleaner for vest results. Just don't wipe it dry.
In fact, I always keep at least one brand new micro fiber towel in the glovebox so I can brush the dust off the gauges. & PCM screen once every few days.
