Default Open carrier ?

Broker finally located a three car, hard sided trailer to transport the new ride from Davenport, IA to Houston, TX. Hard to find a carrier to come all the way down to our little town 180 miles south, so to expedite the process, offered to pick the car up with our truck & trailer. Many times these transport's come at night and have never been under a 991 before. Would like to know in advance if there are easy front & rear attachment points for tie downs similar to below. TIA. T

I have seen them pull the straps through the rims.

Straps through the wheels has been the way including flat bedding from roadside assistance. Not sure how good that is for the rims, repetitive use, or if not done right.

Thinking of trying these:

I just throw a microfibre towel between the strap and the rim. No problem and a lot less than $100!

Straps through the wheels is the approved method. The microfiber under the straps is a great idea too to play it safe.

Don't really like to go through the rims but might do that temporarily. Rent half the shop space to a welder/metal fabricator and will have him make what's needed regarding tow hooks when I get back. Purchased a few used Rennline tow hooks here on RL a few years back for cheap and use them on the back of the 80 project car. The front of all 928's have hooks built into the frame/unibody and was hoping the 991's have something similar. Easy when the front & rear hooks are in place. Thank you for the reply's. T

This would explain the very faint scuff that appeared on my R front wheel from the time we left it off at Stuttgart to the time it arrived at home -- not enough to warrant a wheel refinish (it would never have looked the same), but the dealer is aware.
