Smile 991 GTS black or GT silver??

Hi Chaps,

I have already ordered a GTS in GT silver, however, I have just thought about changing it to black...

I would really appreciate your thoughts/advice on the spec in link below before I make a final decision.

I have never been a lover of black before but I do quite like the black with black wheels etc and even the the wife liked it!!

Ps.. I don't get offended easily so fire away.....

Cheers.....

Not a fan of black cars myself but to each their own. I think with the black GTS wheels there will be a total lack of contrast, the wheels will get lost not to mention the unique black trim/badges etc.

So both colors, in my opinion, will be gorgeous on the GTS. I saw the car at the LA Auto Show last night. Going black will give it that "stealth" theme. However, that assumes you don't mind the care of a black car. I used to go black with all my cars until I just got tired of the maintenance. The GT Silver is beautiful and with the black accents will look amazing! I was one who wasn't a fan of the black engine cover and light strip, but I think it works with the GTS. So assuming you don't mind the extra cost of GT Silver, I'd go with that. It's a special color for a special model. That being said, both will look great. Look forward to seeing the pics.

I first liked the gt silver and the contrasts but I configured again in black and loved, you say, the stealth look! i think it looks very mean and aggressive!

do love both though...thanks!

How much do you want to be noticed? Given your two options, the GT Silver will attract more attention. No, it will. Without going into boring detail, the eye will be more attracted to contrast - which you aren't going to get with a black car with black wheels, etc. Both are nice options but what do I know, my first 911 was Speed Yellow and after that I went a bit further along the spectrum to Turquoise Blue.

I just took possession of a 991 Targa in GT Silver and it looks amazing. It's my favorite color on a Porsche...

The silver would contrast the wheels and grill...good luck,

Another vote for GT Silver, though I'm not sure why...

Black hides the 991 beautiful lines, GT silver enhances them.

I Vote for Black!

This is a tough call, but a black 911 is awesome when PSAM is installed.

Today's latest clear bras and waxes make living with a black car easier.

GT silver all the way.
Unless you are professional detailer, or really like spending your time detailing your cars, black will be a nightmare to keep clean.
Had one black car in my life, a black NSX. I would wash it in the morning and put it into the garage, and when it came to take out for a drive in the afternoon it would be covered with dust, same day.
Plus black cars accentuate swirl marks big time.
Go silver.

Jet Black Metallic would be nice if for a stealthy look. But I'd go for GT Silver or Agate Grey.

These are some photos of a Jet Black Metallic GTS:
