I got confused, which car are we describing M5 or 911?

Maybe he is from Canada and its km/hr which would make sense either that or it's play station mph.

Not sure why everyone thinks I was trying to act cool. It has scared the crap out of me twice because it lacks the sensation of speed and is heavy as hell.

Thinking back now it is probably the weight more than the speed with the M5. Did not have the same feeling when driving a GT3 or 911 Turbo.

Went through the reverse process.... traded-in my 991 911C2S for a 997.2 turbo.

You will love the refinement of the new cabin, and the more comfy ride due to the longer wheelbase. You'll probably miss the raw power on tab. Although I actually prefer the older cabin feel (more focuses, spartan, and purposeful), the new design is more GT like and is light leads ahead in terms of design.

So in short... no, you are not crazy, it's a whole different car, and if you can live with less power but prefer a more modern look you will have no regrets - the 991 is one sexy car.

In Dec. of '13, I traded my '09 997TT with PCCB and 6MT for a '14 991C4S with PDK sport chrono. I love the 991 but it must be revved for torque. It does not have the lower RPM torque rush of the TT. However, the 991 platform is light years better than the 997. Words fail to describe how much better that chassis is. The answer is obvious; get a 991TT or 991TTs. That is exactly what I plan to do in a year or so. I'm still having too much fun with the C4S for now. Best of luck to you whatever you choose.

I totally agree, the chassis is dated compared to the 991. But I might be in the minority here I actually prefer the smaller cabin of the 997 as well - spartan, purposeful, focused. The cabin in the 991 is like the cabin of my wife's Cayenne and Panni. Having said that, that is totally subjective of course, and most people I know prefer the roomier 991 cabin.

No you're not crazy.
Nice Turbo by the way.
I test drove a few 997 Turbos and many 991's, and I have to say the Turbo's are rockets on the road, maybe too fast to utilize on the street without losing your license, but they are so darn quiet that they don't seem to stimulate the senses as much as the 991 C2S did.
I really love the sound of the 991 with the sports exhaust, and it has enough power that you can actually use on the street.
Felt the same way with the GTR. Rocket, but did not stimulate the senses like an na 991.
Sound is important to me.
Plus, the 991 interior is so much nicer and that's where you spend all your time when driving.

That's an easy fix... exhaust with 200 cell cats wakes up the car quite a bit.
