Do I want to scale down and trade my 997TT for a 991C ?

My 997TT CAB is fast, faster than me. I drove a 2013 Carrera, not even a S car. I love the interior upgrade and the glass roof.
Am I crazy ?

The turbo is sick fast, but "The Force" is strong with this one, Obi Wan.. Oh, did I mention the NAV in the dash pod and the PDK and the keyless ignition I'm trying to fight it, but getting old, I am . . . .
Funny thing ,but I can probably trade even for a 2012 991 (non S car)

That is a tough call but you're not crazy. They're just different tools for different jobs. Pure, unadulterated, track-ready performance vs. excellent dd performance with more creature comforts. It's all about how you use it.
For trading price reference, I just purchased a 2012.5 CPO C2S w/9k miles, nicely optioned in mint condition for $89k. I probably could've shaved another couple % but didn't want to lose it over $1-2k.
Good luck with your decision.

I think you'll miss at least 2 important things:
1) the turbo power and torque
2) the cabriolet top
So, buy a:
1) 991S or 991S PowerKit car- help close the gap a little
2) get the new cabriolet- it's excellent. Quiet. Keeps the quintessential 911 roof line silhouette better.

I just got back from an hour "spirited" drive this morning in my turbo. I may have to rethink this some more. I like this car too much still.

Hk -you've got a beautiful car. Classic, rich combo. Just sayin . . .
And can you really give up an open top?

I am going through a similar dilemma right now but to a bigger extreme due to weight with my M5 vs a 911. In my situation I find the power and speed completely unusable on the roads. I have found myself hitting speeds in the 130-140 range coming into corners. As a solution I almost never go WOT except for freeway onramps and the like. Out in the canyons it just does not make sense to be entering corners that fast. I actually prefer to drive my daughters 328i as a canyon carver because I can use ALL of the car's performance without being uncomfortable about something going very very wrong. I never thought I would be in a situation where I thought a car was too fast, but I have reached that point. The one difference here is the mass of the M5. There is a LOT of car to be slowing down and throwing around corners.

It'll be like going from a 45 USP to a 9mm P30.

In my heart, I knew I had made a mistake two days after getting my F10 M5. The thing is big and fat (and yes, fast). But it took me 14 months before I had had enough. I'm so happy that I finally just sucked it up and got back into a 911.
