Default 991 GTS centerlock vs 997.2 GT3 CL wheels

Is there any difference between the centerlock mechanism of the 991 GTS vs 997.2 GT3RS?
I would love to use the RS wheels if possible on the GTS. (got a second set 18" wheels for the RS as the track set)

Forgot to add: I understand that wheel width and offset maybe different and pose a problem!
Thanks

I think the answer is "we dont know" - I assume that the CL mechanism is (either) the same as that used on the Turbos and/or the GT3 (I dont know if they are one and the same or not).

I recall reading that the GT3 CL was redesigned ... not sure if the 991 Turbos inherited that or not.

I think the only way to determine this is to take a GTS wheel off to see...

(has anyone with a 991 GT3 determined if there is any incompatibility in the mechanism vs the 997?)

If the GT3 RS is a widebody the offsets should work... don't quote me on that though. From what I understand the smallest you can go on a 991 is 19" but not positive on that.

As Larry mentioned we still don't know the answer on the actual center bore opening/sizing so will have to wait and see if the 997 GTS/GT3 wheels are a potential fit as a track setup etc.

RS is WB, good point about the 19" issue, I had forgotten about that!

I'm guessing they should fit... but its only a guess at this point in time I do recall there was some talk (somewhere) about design changes in the CL mechanism for the 991 GT3 ... not sure if this carried over to the TT/S and hence the GTS, but it seems more likely than not!

I saw thread where fellow used a Turbo S wheel on a GT3 for his winter tires, this pics looked like a good fit. Not sure if that tells you anything though.

If the GT3/RS offsets are 'compatible' with the TT/S then I think it will work.

Now I'm curious if the GT3 wheels will fit on a GTS.

I'm I wrong in assuming that the Turbo's Turbos S wheels and the GTS (turbo S) wheels are the same? (many uses of turbo in that sentence)

Ive lost track but I thought we had determined that the rear offsets between the TT/S and GTS wheels differed somewhat...

good question about the 991 GT3 wheels, they would rock on a GTS

We did but I'm not sure the info we have to work with is accurate. I asked my dealer, and his parts guy was not able to confirm yet.

Larry - can you look at the offset's stamped on the GTS CL's at the LA Auto Show - that will answer our question on swapability with the TTS CL's/.
