Default car covers for Cabriolet owners

Has anyone used the Tequipment outdoor car cover on their Cab?

I had the indoor Tequip cover on my 997 C2S Cab and always found the cover's inner fleece lining a pain in the butt to install or remove over the top of my Cab. It sticks like velcro...

Anyway just looking for opinions on folks who may have used the outdoor Porsche cover with a Cabriolet.
My dealer has one of each in stock and I'll be buying a cover today.

Thanks!

I'm using the Tequipment indoor cover on my cab now for winter hibernation. No problem. But you're right, it grabs a little. Used once a year, I can deal with it. $300 shipped from Sunset Porsche.

The indoor fits like a glove, which I like.... but if I can avoid that PITA top grabbing with the outdoor Tequip and it fits decently.... I would.

I assume the inner layer would still be the same soft material with a water proof outer? You might still have the same problem.

I assume you're storing indoors?

If you have someone help with the cover, it might go easier?

That's why I'm asking the question about the "outdoor cover" hoping it fits well and does not have the same fleeced inner lining.

Yep stored indoors and even with help the Tequip indoor cover is a PITA pulling over the Cab top.

I doubt anyone has both covers to compare to.

Since the point of the cover is to not scratch the paint, I would bet the inner is a soft material either way.

Since the dealer has both in stock, why not stop there and compare the two for yourself?

Or ... Just get a piece of square plastic like garbage bag material and just cover the rag top with it and the cover will glide right over it.

Clearly I'm asking if someone has the outdoor cover and a cabriolet, not both covers, can share their thoughts.

But good thought on plastic covering.. if nobody who has one chimes in.

Peter, how do you put the cover on?

For me. I start in the middle of the car, and hook the mirrors into their pockets first. Then pull over the front of the car and secure, then pull over the back of the car and secure. This way it catches the least on the fabric cabriolet top.

I ended up getting the indoor cover.

The outdoor cover looked like a large plastic garbage bag w/Porsche logo....

Ha ha. Was the inside the same material?

I'm glad you got one! Try the plastic trick I mentioned. Should work!

Nope it was shiny plastic inside and out. Very cheap look and feel though it would probably be fine.

Will definitely try the plastic bag over Cab top suggestion thanks!!.... Just not sure how to secure the bag, as I leave my windows open slightly over winter.

As with LexVan, I start in the middle of the car, secure the cover to the mirrors, then to the front. I then grasp the cover by the back end and flutter it until it sits taught and smooth over the fabric roof, and then secure to the back of the car.

I have used the Tequipment covers, but really prefer the Covercraft WeatherShield HP Car Covers http://www.covercraft.com/cartlink/i...-tab-customize

They are custom fit and are unlined so there isn't lint on the CAB top from liner.
