Yeah I'm going to have to disagree here as well, in my experience (Toronto) summer tires turn rock hard below 7C/45F and there is noticeably less traction in cold weather. When it is cold/dry there is significantly more grip using winter tires vs summers. Not to mention when it is cold/wet... the thought of a rear drive vehicle in our winters with summer tires is scary at best.

Even if we got zero snow I'd still switch over every year...
