What I really like about the 991 Dark Metallic Blue is all the metal flake. Much more flake then the days of the 993 DMB.

Yes, a lot of times us Porschefiles see a color that we love but wouldn't necessarily want to own for a long time for various reasons.
- its your only car
- too flashy
- too trendy
- resale will be harder

-On that list for me I would include
- Yellow, Red
- Gulf blue, Mexico Blue some other exotic blues which we wish we could buy
- Martini Racing or similar Livery

I've driven a DBM Targa and it looked amazing in bright sunlight. Lots of metallic flake, as noted above. White, on the other hand, looked unremarkable.

white is for people who dont care about the car color, and who have someone else to wash it...

Haha. Agreed, kind of.

I have 3 white cars right now. All of which are detailed personally. And I didn't get them because I didn't care about color. It was either because there was no such thing as PTS (or PTS was not an option), or because the alternative colors didn't appeal to me in some way, and white (with sufficient black/red contrasts) was the classiest option.

and I did it twice...997 in Speed Yellow and 991 in Racing Yellow

as for resale, the different was $5K according to the dealer when I tried to sell my 997. I didn't care as I got to enjoy the car I wanted everyday.

DBM is - in my opinion - a very classy color, and a targa will look outstanding in DBM/black/beige - no need to worry

I have seen several MDB on the internet but have only seen one in real life and I am not entirely sure I like the color anymore. I think the Targas go best with darker colors to contrast with the silver aluminum rollbar, but cannot decide between MDB, sapphire blue (which to me looks beautiful in less light, ie a cloudy day it takes on a breathtaking mid dark blue hue) but in bright light can come across as garish to me, black metallic, or even white metallic which can look stunning. I would welcome anyone's opinion in this moment of crisis!
Your color choice is outstanding!! Your Targa will look great; don't get anxious now, be patient and you will have an awesome car!!

BTW what is the interior color??

thanks for the pics Orjan! That's a great shot at a DBM targa in the wild..
Bull: I would pair the blue with two-tone black/Luxor beige interior
