The need to mod - so I'm moving on...
So I decided that my need to mod cars is just too strong to stick with my current 991 C2S. If you are not into modding or you are an adult this won't make sense to you.
Pulled the trigger on a 2013 997.2 turbo yesterday... crazy *** modding potential and that will keep me busy for a while. In related news: my daughter will either go to a state college or not go at all.
I will part out my car next week and will sell the current mods in my signature.
This post has been made from the sofa where I'm currently sleeping.
Best,
Philip

Fully understand, so far I continue to resist.

Id mod it if it needed it, but why mess with perfection.
Actually did clear side markers (hardly a mod when that's how they come "naturally" lol) and am doing winter tires (hardly a "mod" either) but one day will probably do a partial exhaust solution for weight and a few ponies.
Beyond that and maybe an iPhone holder, there's really nothing it needs IMO.

I can understand this. I am trying to decided if a new GTS is worth the extra or should I just mod my C2. I'm thinking about adding PSE, wheel spacers, a black engine cover and black Porsche lettering. Might look to buy the SD flappy wheel too......
Did you get my message about your wheel spacers?
Tom.

So help me understand this need to mod. Exactly how much performance gain is possible? The exhaust mod makes sense, it's louder so that's noticeable. But all the other stuff I don't get. How much performance is gained? Why not just buy a faster version to begin with?

It's the whole journey, the research, the building, the clearing of the CEL... Fiddling with it brings me joy, and that turbo engine has insane potential - around 750-800hp. The 997.1 with the mezger block even more - EVOm built one with over 1,500. It has nothing to do with "making sense"... it's the fun of it. Sure, you can just go and buy a faster car to start out with, but then you won't have fun working on it for some years. I'm planning to get it up to 650hp and then focus on suspension and brake upgrades. Again, if you are not into working on cars or modding it makes very little sense.

Have fun with the new car, Philip! Your Fabspeed headers--do they require an ECU tune so as to not throw off the car's computer, or does the car automatically adjust for the less-restricted flow? Also, do they pass NY State inspection?

I'll share that with her.... she is 11, so I still have some time.

Thanks man! No tune required, car adapts. I put sensor spacers on to avoid the CEL, but shouldn't be needed anyway. 200 cell cats pass NY inspection.
