Default No interior lights on door opening?

I only just noticed on my $130,000 C4S with premium package, the 'map reading' lights don't come on when a door is opened.....!!

Apparently the manual says this is an OPTION and is controlled by another button next to the garage door openers.... My car does not have this button....

What is required to get this 'feature' that the cheapest cars you can buy for the last 20+ years all have standard? Is it the 'light design package'?

The options on Porsches are just getting silly....

Yes, the manual says (where equipped) - my car apparently doesn't have this option - which blows me away....

Map lights (and front footwell lights) go on with door if they are set right.

Hmmm. My car has the 14 way seats/premium package and I can set the entry lights on/off and their brightness and timing via the PCM under "lighting options."
I did have one weird incidence once where they didn't come on....went to the appropriate PCM screens and they for some reason had defaulted to off. Reset to my specs and it's been fine ever since.
