WTF oil level
Well I changed my oil 2 weeks and 1000 miles ago and tonight after being in the green all that time it decided it had too much oil.
Please bring back the dip stick.

Are you getting the yellow warning? Or red?
I bet you're about 200-400 ml over.

Do you have Sport Plus? Run that. Runs cooler. No overfill warning.
From cold to hot, the oil amount in a modern (approx 9 quart capacity) Porsche expands about a 1/2 quart due to thermal properties.

I've have 3 round trips of over 320 miles each and a hand full of short trips so far on this oil change.
LexVan I got the yellow warning saying safe to drive on.

You're fine. Probably about 200 ml over filled. It will be burnt off soon, if not already. You are getting the yellow over fill warning when the oil gets hot enough (about 210-ish) and there is enough thermal expansion of the oil to trip the sensor.

I'm bringing back this ancient thread because the same thing that happened to the OP happened to me. This is the first time in about a dozen DIY oil changes that I got a "Yellow" overfill warning. It happened last night, 10 minutes from home after an entire afternoon of driving around doing errands. (Yes, the oil level was in full green. In fact, I checked it about mid-day after quite a bit of driving.)
I am dreading opening up the drain plug because I know trying to let out just a bit will still become a huge mess, and then I will question whether the drain plug washer will re-seal again properly. I also don't want to waste 8 quarts of Mobil 1 and start over. I guess there is no way to suck it out. Ugh.

You only need to worry, and reduce oil level, if you get the red warning.
Now watch, you'll get the yellow warning at just about the time your oil temp hit 215-217. This is the sweet spot for thermal expansion, and trips the sensor and the yellow caution sign. Resets at every drive cycle and cooling loop.

I've gotten better though out the years to only put in just enough not to trigger the yellow overfill.
For oil extractors I just purchased and used the "topsider" from northern tool ($50) to change oil in the boats twin 5.0's. Easy to use and does the job.
