TPMS reset

TPMS reset
I changed my rims and tires. The new TPMS sensors are not registering on the car. How do you reset the TPMS on the 991.
Also I have Pirelli P zeros, are they directional (I did not see a left or right indication on the tire)

Have to ask these questions.
Did you buy the OEM 433 mhz TPMS? (got the frequency from another thread)
Did they put batteries in them before you installed the tires?
How far have you driven since changing rims? When I changed tires it took a few miles for everything to sync and the warning to go off on the dash.

After 2 days of going through every menu here is what I figured out. The sensors do not automatically sync. You have to go to the "TPMS" menu and where you can choose 20" summer or winter tires. You have to scroll from summer to winter and back to summer and hit enter. You will get a message that states that the TPMS is registering or monitoring. You have to keep it on that screen otherwise they will not register. After about 5-7 minutes they finally registered.

These threads are saving my life a new owner of used 991! I had the breaks looked at and the mechanic had NO idea about how to have the tire pressure once again display correctly.

This was very helpful. New tires installed at a Regional Tire Chain but they didn't know how to reset. I did sit for a long time waiting for it to sync, but making sure all the check marks were changed back to original and readings came thru.

Is it normal that it only gives me the tire pressures after I drive a bit every time or it should be on automatically when I start the car?

that is normal i believe u only get a reading once the car reaches a set speed, from then on u get a reading till the car is shut off again

Tire pressure readings won't display a value until you've driven a few miles after being parked.
Of note:
This has happened to me twice after driving through rain and water. A low tire pressure message came on, first on the right front a few months ago, most recently on the left rear.
I've got my pressure limits set on "Comfort" through the dashboard display. Both times the warning was for low pressure when in reality the pressures were within 1-2lbs.
I upped the pressures 2lbs over the "Comfort" pressures with my pro gauge (it's accurate and matches the car readout) and the pressures were right on when I drove the car to check.
Low pressure warning message didn't go away this last time, rather annoying.
By cycling out and in the "Comfort" setting, I made the warning go away.
Stuff that isn't in the manual. I think they do it on purpose to challenge your problem-solving skills.

Not normal. Should show when you start car after a moment. Mine show after a brief moment when I turn key even if I haven’t started car.

991.2 readings are NOT immediate.
991.1 > 991.2

I recently had my tires changed and the indy could not get reading on one of the tire, so they recommended I buy a new TMPS sensor and have them swap it out for a little additional charge. I said no and went back to research on Rennlist, found this thread and was able to get all TMPS reading after follow the instructions given here....
