IF this included a brake fluid flush, and it SHOULD, then that's not a rip off, IMO. Expensive, yes, but not crazy.

Nope - no flush due to a failed master cylinder replacement 3 months prior.
Rip off...

On all previous cars I have always done maintenance myself - oil, filters, trans, diff, brake fluids etc. Only car I have owned that I didn't work on was a BMW because that maintenance was included. To be honest, the only reason I didn't do it was because A. The car is $100k and its a bit intimidating just from a cost standpoint, and B. if there were any warranty issues I don't want it coming back to bite me. I can tolerate the high dealer costs for labor rates etc, I knew about that when I bought the car. What I don't tolerate is that dealers think we are stupid.

Then I think I agree. My advice; start finding a trusted indy shop. They should be getting more and more competent with the 991's are they start coming off warranty. And some of the easy stuff like cabin filters and wiper blades could have been DIY, and then you just pay the dealership $300 for the oil change and you pocket the other $400.

Since they put in a 5W40....it's Penzoil I bet. Mobil does not really have a Porsche approved 5W40. And I think a 5W40 is better than a 0W40. Unless you live in the artic tundra.
I am using 5W40 Joe Gibbs right now and will soon be changing to Mobil 5W50. I like the UOA results of the Mobil 5W50 over the Joe Gibbs. Car is stored from late October till early April.

Again, why would you not do the basics yourself. Oil and filter changes couldn't be any easier. Dealers are for warranty repairs only. Getting oil and filter changes done at the dealer or an 'indy' do nothing to 'protect' your warranty, as it needs no 'protection'. Even brake fluid flushes are basic DIY. If you track your car, a flush should be done before every outing. It takes 30 minutes.

I have no interest in DIY. I have no time. I am willing to pay for quality service. I have a business to run. I have a family. I have other hobbies and interests. And I rather be driving when time and weather permits. I respect those with the skills to DIY.
I do the things I do well. I pay others to do the things I can't or don't want to do.

why did you change your AIR filters? the book says 40k and the rear bumper has to be removed. Do you live in the desert?
