Default I don't like "No Badging"

For this reason: I pass another 991 on the road, turn around to see what model it is and can't determine it because it is not badged.

I agree, although I think the current generation of badging is a little "busy" with:

Carerra ....

I think you should be able to tell what model a car is for the vast majority of 991s on the road.

Exhaust tips and calipers tell you if you're looking at base or S model.
Body shape (wide/non-wide) will determine if you're looking at RWD or AWD.

There are some exceptions, but the clues are there.

Agree completely. And that's why so many of us are de-badging 991s. I don't mind the model name, but Porsche has done a poor aesthetic job getting it all on the rear lid. The first gen Panamera had the same issue and Porsche fixed it with the refresh. So who knows what the MY16 911 will bring??

If you can turn around and read the badge you're not going nearly fast enough!

Richard how can I tell the diff between base and S with calipers and/or exhaust tips?

Reading someones car while driving instead of paying attention to the road, another reason to de badge.

Base callipers are black. S callipers are red.
Base tips are single. S tips are dual.
Carrera 4/4S have red light band across rear below spoiler.

Thanks!

I guess I'm ok with no badging now.
