Best Options for 991

Another option is to go and buy a 50th anniversary Geyser Grey but you will have to be flexible on your options list as production run is finished and only a handful of showroom models available in dealerships across states, even less if you specifically want a manual (there was one left last week).

Well, since the ball has been put in front of the goal i'll take the penalty and kick it in the upper left corner if you don't mind my soccer expression.
We like it because of it's sound, on/off behaviour plus pops and gargles on the overrun.
I have read some reports about droning being an unexpected and annoying factor for a factory exhaust, but not experienced this.
If I'd live in the USA I'd consider fitting something like a Sharkwerks sports exhaust pipe.

My first 991 was C2 with zero options, nothing, nada, and it was a great car, the 991 is fantastic even in its most basic form. I still miss that car.
IMO no option is a "must have", its just a matter of personal preference. The only thing I regreted not ordering were 20" wheels just for "looks", but it seems most people are ok with the 19"s.

After a week with my Cab S...
PSE
Vent seats
But the convertble is by far THE BEST decision...like having 2 cars! But car is simply incredible...I think I would be happy with any 911, but that PSE is a must-have for sure!

Must haves?
None.
Seriously. I would be estatic with a base 991. That said, I'd spec the following as my preferred minimum:
Heated and vented seats. Heated steering wheel. Sports Chrono and maybe Bose. I love white and black, but if I ordered right now I'd go Mahogany (with colored wheel crests) but that's obviously not necessary. If I was really trying to keep the cost down, I'd ditch Bose and SC in that order.
I think its cool that 911's are so customizable, but I cringe at how dealers radically overspec almost all their cars. I ordered a 981C like this before I got a CPO 991S. Dealer took delivery of it anyway, and it sold in under 2 weeks. It was a Cayman S about 5-10K cheaper than any base Cayman in a wide radius. The over optioned one I test drove was still there a year later LOL.

Drifting
I bought my car used. It was heavily optioned. If I was going to buy new the only two options that were a must was the PDK and the sport chrono. The rest was all gravy. That said I do like all the goodies that came with my car.

Options are a product of sales & marketing not design & engineering. If you have the $$$ and don't mind spending it then great but its never a must. Personally I have always tilted towards a more expensive car with low options than a cheaper high optioned car e.g. Low optioned 911 vs high optioned M3 (or whatever).
- PDK
- Sport Exhaust
- Clear tail lights
- Sun roof delete
- Power sport seats.
