If you select the Sport Chrono option, you get in addition dynamic engine mounts. And rev matching with the MT 7 speed.

For example, in the Boxster, you get dynamic transmission mounts, not engine mounts, because of the mid engine setup. Just an FYI.

Yes. By turning off PSM. Or by not being in Sport Plus. Simple.

So, you can be in Sport Plus, with PSM off, and disable the rev matching.

LexVan - I'm glad I posted. That's really helpful and makes me better understand the desirability of Sport Chrono. I'll make corrections to my post. Thanks.

As a side note, these are electro magnetic. They came over to us from the 997 GT3 technology. Forget if gen 1 or gen 2.

LexVan, with PASM, if the Sport button is on, but the Damper button is switched off, what is the Sport button doing?

In this case, you'd have more aggressive throttle mapping, more lenient PSM, if you have PSE it would be on too, and the chassis would be in a more comfort setting, not firm.

We learned about this a few weeks ago from a sharp Rennlister who did not want rev matching when tracking his car because he wanted to do his own heel toeing. But he wanted to be be in Sport Plus mode for other reasons ( runs cooler, throttle response......).

I'm trying not to get too dizzy - You said that PASM doesn't impact throttle response, but the Sport button does. So are you saying that the Sport button is not really part of PASM? btw, is PASM standard on all models now?

PSM:

Please
Save
Me!!

Or:

Porsche
Save
Me!!

Not sure I understand your question.

When you turn off PSM you are allowing the car to get very sideways and allow tire spin. Just to name a couple.

In an emergency situation, like a spin, PSM will re-engage but you're probably already toast.

promocop - PSM and PASM are two entirely different systems.

Not so easy, huh??
