Homeles,

I say go for it. I am in the same boat, got my c4s for less than 2 months, has been considering GT3s. If your dealer willing to sell at msrp or less and will give you a fair trade for you c2s, jump on it. Just for your reference, my local stealers are asking $10k-$20k above sticker for ones on the lot. Good luck!

I went back and forth with that decision - I'm not a track rat so the main reason I was considering GT3 was to have that badge on the back. Also the rear wheel steering sounds delicious. But in the end I stayed with C4S with X51 and Burmester.

How comfortable did it feel when you drove it?
What usually happens to the GT3 line when the 991 transitions to the 991.2?
The car you are looking at would be a real head turner no doubt, there a few GT3s around here and are they are always white so the black would set it apart.

Not sure about the GT3 991.2 but the regular 991.2 rumors have all been extremely non-eventish. Meaningless minor changes to running lights and tiny cosmetics. I doubt a mid run GT3 would be much different.

So I finally found out the whole story. The car I was looking at was ordered by someone and they're covering their a$$ in case he doesn't take it. Spoke with my dealer. Porsche is still not allowing the sale of GT3's. The engines haven't even arrived in the US. ALL GT3's will be shipped to San Diego for the engine replacement. If the person who ordered it doesn't want the car, they will be sold to dealers first at a Porsche auction, probably in Atlanta.

I thought that some U.S engine replacements had already been done, at dealers, but I could be wrong on that.

From purely an aesthetics standpoint, is it my imagination or does the turbo S have more seductive lines than the GT3? I assume the main difference between these cars is that a GT3 is engineered for the track so I guess aesthetics is a moot point. I can't afford either car so luckily I don't have a make a decision between the two.

I thought I read that some regulars in the GT3 forum already had their cars back.

I was reading on one of the GT3 threads that the engines are only being replaced in a few places in the country to ensure quality control.

Tons of info on this in the GT3 forum. I had a GT silver GT3 on order and cancelled because I got scared. My car was supposed to arrive April 15th and it will now get to my dealer in Novemeber. It was sold 15 minutes after I cancelled it for more than MSRP. It was one of the very last 2014's produced. Many people in the US now have their cars back and all GT3's will be back on the road by late fall. Cars are starting sell again - they are doing the repairs in the ports around the country, and Porsche mechanics from Germany have set up shop there.

Every so often, an inkling of regret for cancelling creeps into my head, but I am in love with my C2S, and it makes me smile everyday. I'll probably pick up a GT3 in a couple years when my kids have grown too big for the back seat in my C2S.
