Default What a Father's Day!

Sorry if this is a little long but I wanted to share my experience this past weekend.

Drove home my very first Porsche this weekend! After 15 years of Corvettes (C5 and C6), I finally decided to try the Porsche experience!

I picked up a 2012 991 S with 7,200 miles on it with the following options:

Basalt Black Metallic
Platinum Grey interior
PDK
Bose
Premium Package w/ 18 way Sport Seats
Sunroof
Power folding side mirrors
Park assist (front and rear)
PDLS
PDCC w/ PASM Sport
Sport Chrono
Sport Exhaust
20" SportDesign Wheels

It still has two years left on the factory warranty and I had a dealer do a PPI - no issues whatsoever, so I am pretty happy. Actually, I am extremely happy! My first Porsche! I'm not sure I would have gotten all of these options if I was buying new but I am very pleased with all of it so far. I wasn't sure about the wheels at first but they have really grown on me.

I loved my Corvettes but holy cow, the 911 is fantastic! The sound is intoxicating. Simply amazing. I keep finding excuses to drive it...what, we are out of milk? I'M ON IT!

I have learned a ton from lurking on this forum and I hope to continue to learn from you all!

Thanks! I ordered the clear LED side markers today. From the video, they didn't look too hard to install - at least I hope that is the case.

I just did my LED side markers this afternoon. It took me a while to do the first one but the trick is to pull the back (nearest to the door jamb) away from the fender (gently!) to release a spring clip. The front hook should come free at that point. It is a fiddly job, but be patient and watch the video at Suncoast first. Buona fortuna. (they look awesome when they are turned on

Congrats and Happy Father's Day!
I have the same wheels - I though of replacing them for a while, but after living them for a few weeks, I really started to like the look. I felt like the car was "born" with them, so I have since felt obligated to keep the original setup...and am very happy with it. The 911 is an amazing machine - enjoy it!
I also changed out to the clear side markers - pretty easy job and it really looks sweet against the black body!!

Congrats on the new ride!

I'm also in Northern VA - you should join the PCA. Our local chapter (PCA Potomac) is awesome! Maybe I'll see you around... I'll keep my eye open for someone driving a black 911 with a huge grin on their face .

Basalt is a great color. I haven't seen jet black, but I was surprised to see basalt go.
Congrats!
