991 as a high mileage daily driver

The 991 is a great DD, through all weather and conditions (with proper winter tires, of course). It's comfortable when you want it to be, an absolute beast when you want it to be, and most importantly it puts a smile on my face every time I fire it up. It makes me appreciate every commute (yes, even the ones spent largely stuck in NYC traffic).

The only thing you might miss are the 4 seats?
I need a little help here. I've gone from looking to replace the 3rd car (335 convertible) with a 997 cabrio to maybe getting into a 991 and making it my daily driver. I average about 30k (mostly highway) miles a year on my DD (currently a 2011 535i) and seeing that the 991's are are 2012's and newer, are there any members out there that are putting this type of mileage on theirs? I'm wondering if there are any must haves and/or regrets in terms of options. I've driven 2013 examples in both PDK/manual and S and non S versions and the only decision I've made so far is in favor of the PDK.
Mark.

Wouldn't be the shifting that would get to me but how everyone crowds each other in traffic.

The lack of 4 useful seats wouldn't effect me much. I would plan on holding on to my 5 series. I like it too much to part with it. I did set out on Friday to take a peek a new cabrio nearby (in a little bit of snow I might add) only to find the car sold. I then called on a new 2013 which was out of state. After the salesman took the time to send over the build sheet, I emailed back an inquiry on price. After not hearing back on Friday evening and all day Saturday, I left a voicemail message today and still nothing... Work will keep me from looking this week so I will start up again next week.

Depends on the money you have available, how long you plan to keep the car, etc. But ...
I also recommend Adaptive Cruise, but with PAS (Porsche Active Safe) which I think is now standard. PAS will watch ahead and apply the brakes and bring you to a complete panic stop if necessary to avoid a front-end collision. Also nice for a DD is Dynamic Lights with the PLUS option, which controls dim/bright headlights according to traffic and speed -- it works great. You may want to consider Park Assist with reversing camera, now available at least on the Turbo and so coming on other models. I don't see it as a 911 option yet, but Lane Change Assist is very nice on the Cayenne, and I wish it was an option for the 911. Do you need Voice Control?
