I think that I have ruled that out. Although I agree it's a beautiful combo, it's just not distinctive enough for what I'm looking for. Right now I'm leaning toward the Black/Garnet Red with deviating black carpet (especially because I think carbon fiber trim goes best with red interiors), but the Espresso/Cognac combo is intriguing to me as well.
On an aside, I can't thank all of you enough. Reading thru 20 or so pages of posts has really helped me fine tune my order. And (for the most part) there's a maturity here that is sooooo lacking on most of the BMW forums.
I am ordering my C2 with garnet red/ black too...but i cannot find the option for the Carpets in deviated black color on the configurator...how did you get them?

Thanks to everyone here, I can tell you that it's on your dealer's configurator (not the online configurator), it's option code 24951, and it costs $710.
I have the beige/black combo on my black C4S. What really caught my eye when I bought this car was the matching beige dials and clock the dealer had ordered. It is pretty unique.
I have the red black combo in our Cayenne GTS and it looks good. Black paint and black painted wheels with a red rim stripe. Really stands out having the stripe with the black wheels and red calipers.
I have the red interior in my 911 TTS. What makes it stand out is contrast with black dials. (Car is black).
One thing to keep in mind on these red interiors. After airbag deployment in the GTS the seats had to be replaced. Red leather took weeks to arrive. I heard a similar experience e from a colleague. I'm guessing you have to be prepared for that on red or any less common color.
Sorry, that was indeed 'Maritime'. I think directly below is 'Yachting Blue'. I often get the blues in the flesh mixed up! I know for sure that 'Blue Man Group' is 'Voodoo Blue'. That was confirmed to me in writing by the executive producer of the troupe. I am very sensitive to the 'blues'. I walked out of 'Avatar', the movie, because I thought the deviating stitching in the leather loincloths and some of the 'tights' on the women were just in the wrong hues. I am very particular about these types of details...as some of you know!
But back on topic. In my opinion, any 'blue' on the flesh is too risky as it often doesn't look....natural. I wouldn't do it.
